Historic Recognition

The building of our grain port is recognized as a nationally-significant historical event. Friends of Grain Elevators researched and wrote a successful submission to the National Historic Sites and Monuments Board. In the summer of 2018, a plaque celebrating this event was unveiled next to the Fort William Elevator, on the Kaministiquia River.
